Chairman’s Chat

Taken from our recent newsletter (you would have got it if you were a member…) our Chairman, Nigel Fruin, gives us a note from Nigel Knows!

“Summer’s here, which means lots of socials to add to the usual fun and games of planning, rehearsing and performing shows.

We had another great success at Vicky Hall in March with our production of Hi-De-Hi which included something that had never previously occurred at Vicky Hall. More on that later.

It was also great to see the amount of interest in Return To The Forbidden Planet with over 35 people coming to the pre-audition rehearsals. Rehearsing is now well underway and the cast appear to be loving the routines.

Watch out for all the social events which include Race Night, Bar-b-que and of course our Celebration Ball this year. Also please support our promotion days; these not only help promote the shows we do but also encourage new members to join the society.

Be proud of your company as we are the leading Theatre company in the area in many ways; not only were we the first company to put on a production at Broxbourne Civic Hall when it opened in 1976, but since then we have been the first to bring many shows to Broxbourne including West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Singing In The Rain, Little Shop of Horrors and now Return To The Forbidden Planet. We are continuing this trend of being leaders next September with another first for Broxbourne from EHOS, but more on that to come!

It’s great being part of a leading company!”
